What is hydro jetting?

Hydro jetting is a way of cleaning drain and sewer lines with a stream of high-pressure water instead of a cable.

A special nozzle goes into the line and sprays water forward to break up the blockage and backward to push the nozzle along and scour the pipe walls. Grease, sludge, sediment and roots get cut loose and flushed out.

Because it cleans the whole inside of the pipe rather than poking a hole through the clog, jetting helps stop the same clog from coming back next month.

When do you need hydro jetting?

When a clog keeps coming back, or a line is coated in grease or full of roots.

  • Slow drains that return a few weeks after snaking
  • A main line between the house and the septic tank that keeps backing up
  • Grease buildup from a busy kitchen, at home or at a business
  • Tree roots growing into the sewer line
  • Preventive cleaning for commercial properties

Hydro jetting vs. power snaking: which do I need?

Snaking punches through a clog; jetting cleans the whole pipe. We'll recommend the one that fits your line.

“My septic got a clog late on a Friday night. Saturday morning I called and ranch country had their home septic driver on the way to me in less than an hour. They had a hydro jetter mounted on the truck and were able to get everything taken care of.”

FAQ

Hydro jetting FAQ

Don't see your question? Call (541) 648-7114 and ask a real person.

Is hydro jetting safe for old pipes?

Usually, but not always. Badly cracked, collapsed or very old pipes can be damaged by high pressure. If we have doubts about a line, we'll tell you and may suggest power snaking instead.

How long does hydro jetting take?

Most residential lines are cleared in a single visit. Long runs or heavy root intrusion take longer. You'll get a time estimate with your quote.

Will hydro jetting get rid of tree roots?

It cuts roots out of the line and flushes them away. Roots can grow back through the same cracks over time, so lines with roots often need jetting again every so often.

Can you jet the line and pump the tank in the same visit?

Yes. Our trucks carry both, and it's often the right call when a clogged line has backed up into a full tank.
